LONDON, February 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Frost & Sullivan hosted its first Excellence in Healthcare Awards Banquet last night. The prestigious black tie affair, held at the Novotel Hotel in London, honoured leaders and achievers of the healthcare industry.
The awards were presented for competitive excellence in sectors as diverse as surgical devices, biopharmaceuticals, orthopaedics, medical devices, healthcare IT, drug discovery and diagnostic technologies, nanomedicine and wound management.
Award recipients were honoured for exceptional planning and execution of product launches, strategic alliances, distribution strategies, technological innovations, customer service and mergers and acquisitions. Outstanding leadership, strategy, service, innovation, integration and development skills were also recognised at the event.
Among those picking up accolades for their excellent performance over the past year included Sartorius AG, which was conferred the Product Differentiation Innovation Award while Protein Separations (GE Healthcare) received the Market Leadership Award. ApaTech Limited’s entrepreneurial drive was recognised with the Entrepreneurial Company Award and Boehringer Ingelheim GmbH walked away with two awards - the Customer Value Award and the Technology Leadership Award.
Frost & Sullivan acknowledged Dade Behring, Diagnostica Stago and Kimal for their leadership in Business Development Strategy, Market Penetration and Customer Service Leadership, respectively. Regent Medical Limited and Sandoz were lauded for their Market Leadership and Competitive Strategy Leadership.
Groundbreaking innovations from Roche Diagnostics underpinned its receipt of the Drug Discovery & Diagnostics Technology of the Year Award while Vivolution A/S was bestowed the Product Innovation Award.
The awards gala opened with a CEO panel discussion on ‘Global Excellence in Medical Technologies’. Senior managers including Mr. Donal Quinn, President, Global Customer Management, Dade Behring; Mr. Steve King, Managing Director Europe & Asia Pacific, Regent Medical, Dr. Bhuwhnesh Agrawal, Senior Vice President and Head of Applied Science, Roche Diagnostics and Dr. Heinrich Scherfler, Chief Executive Officer, Sandoz GmbH discussed critical challenges and developments in the healthcare industry. Mr. Dorman Followwill, Partner and Global Vice President Healthcare & Life Sciences of Frost & Sullivan, who moderated the discussion, later delivered the keynote address for the evening.
