San Diego, CA, June 20, 2014 - Drug Delivery Experts had its grand opening this week with visits from local industry leaders including Dan Bradbury of BioBrit LLC, former CEO of Amylin, Joe Panetta, CEO of Biocom, local biotechnology industry organization, and Phil Blair and Mel Katz, CEO and Executive Officer of Manpower San Diego, the largest local staffing agency, and many others.
Drug Delivery Experts works with partners to establish a virtual R&D team, and brings to its clients a significant experience in developing and commercializing biopharmaceuticals in delivery systems and devices. “We are pleased to launch our new business model in the midst of BIO and welcome out of town visitors on Sunday and Thursday afternoon, prior to and after the BIO meeting in San Diego” said Christopher A. Rhodes, CEO, Drug Delivery Experts. “We are fortunate to have Sensulin on board as our first co---located and partner company and will run R&D for Sensulin from within the lab at Drug Delivery Experts.”
Sensulin is developing a glucose---responsive insulin for type 1 and type 2 diabetes, with the goal of creating a 24 hour insulin to eliminate the need for separate basal and mealtime injections. “Sensulin established the lab with Drug Delivery Experts to take advantage of the deep drug delivery experience and network that our CTO, Chris Rhodes, brings to Sensulin”, added Mike Moradi, CEO, Sensulin.
Dan Bradbury stated “I have had the opportunity to work with Chris for many years and am excited about his new venture. The deep expertise in peptide and protein product and drug development that Drug Delivery Experts brings to the San Diego biopharmaceutical industry is invaluable”.
