COLUMBUS, Ohio, July 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Robert A. Menotti, a retired surgeon from Syracuse, N.Y., has been named to the OHIC Board of Directors, OHIC President and CEO Raymond R. Mazzotta announced today.
“Dr. Menotti brings a wealth of knowledge to our board room, in great part because of his experience in the operating room,” Mazzotta said. “This is a difficult time in the history of our industry. The legal environment in which we work is extremely tenuous. Having board members the caliber of Dr. Menotti will help us through these times.”

“I look forward to meeting the challenge of helping OHIC provide the Ohio healthcare community with quality liability insurance for the long term,” Menotti said. “I hope to be able to continue in the fine tradition of this company, bringing value to its insureds at a time of great turmoil in the industry.”
He is currently a member the board of directors, and the executive and claims committees for the Medical Liability Mutual Insurance Company, OHIC’s parent company. Menotti serves as an independent physician consultant for MetLife at their Oriskany, N.Y., office, conducting disability file reviews for the appeals unit.
