Danippon Screen Mfg. (TSE: 7735) announced on April 26 that it will set up a technology consortium-- Micro Chemical Initiative (MCI) in May with five other companies. The participating companies are Omron (TSE: 6645), Olympus(TSE: 7733), Zeon, Horiba (TSE: 6856) and Yamatake. The consortium will identify and develop practical use of microchemical technologies through partnership. The microchemical technologies are expected to find applications in various fields including chemistry, drug development, biotechnology, medicine, environmental business and energy.
