Sunrise Clinical Manager is an enterprise-wide electronic health record solution that provides immediate, secure access to patients’ complete records, streamlines care processes and improves the quality and cost-efficiency of care. It features a state-of-the-art workflow engine, embedded evidence-based content, award-winning order entry and sophisticated clinical documentation capabilities. Community Hospital uses Sunrise Clinical Manager to manage patient lists, results, nursing order entry and nursing worklists.
Sunrise Access Manager/Patient Financial Manager is an enterprise-wide, comprehensive scheduling, registration/ADT, contract management, document management and patient accounting solution that provides a seamless workflow between administrative, clinical and financial processes, the patient and the payer. The Eclipsys solution streamlines the revenue cycle workflow and extends it beyond the healthcare organization, integrating payers and patients in an automated environment. Community Hospital uses Sunrise Access Manager/Patient Financial Manager in both the hospital and ambulatory care settings.
“Eclipsys is very pleased to expand our relationship with Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula,” said Eugene V. Fife, Eclipsys chairman, president and chief executive officer. “The seamless integration, interoperability and new features in the latest versions of Sunrise Clinical Manager and Sunrise Access/Patient Financial Manager will continue to support Community Hospital’s leadership role in providing high-quality healthcare and a positive patient experience in both clinical and financial matters.”
A Single Source for Comprehensive Patient Information
“Community Hospital is striving to achieve a single point of access for clinicians to view all relevant clinical data for their patients including integration of our PACS and cardiovascular images, 12-lead EKGs and our EMR to the patient’s chart in Sunrise Clinical Manager,” said Tom McNamara, chief information officer at Community Hospital. “The upgrades of our Sunrise clinical and financial solutions bring us one step closer to achieving this goal and position the organization for the activation of Sunrise Clinical Manager with Critical Care(TM), a multi-disciplinary documentation and workflow management solution, which is planned for an early 2006 activation.”
Another major objective of the Sunrise upgrades involved taking advantage of Community Hospital’s new ODBC reporting capabilities to improve executive financial reporting. “This upgrade is a major step forward toward our goal of streamlining financial reporting processes. By taking advantages of the ODBC enhancements in Access Manager/Patient Financial Manager, we gain flexibility in our report generation and delivery of Web-based reporting to all of our departments,” McNamara said.
Using Sunrise Access Manager/Patient Financial Manager, Community Hospital also wants to improve scheduling workflows with recurring schedules in the organization’s Rehabilitation department. “Additionally, on the financial side, the Access Manager/Patient Financial Manager upgrade positions Community Hospital to continue its rollout of enterprise scheduling to target departments and ultimately leads us to our goal of centralized scheduling and registration across all departments,” McNamara said.
A long-time Eclipsys customer, Community Hospital is already using the following Eclipsys products in addition to Sunrise Clinical Manager and Access Manager/Patient Financial Manager: Knowledge-Based Transcription(TM), powered by eScription; Sunrise Enterprise Person Identifier(TM) (ePI), Sunrise Integration Module (SIM), and eLink. The organization is also implementing the Eclipsys Sunrise ED Manager(TM) integrated Emergency Department solution and plans to implement Sunrise Surgical Manager(TM), powered by Eclipsys partner Surgical Information Systems, in the near future.
