NEW YORK, May 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CareDecision Corp. (BULLETIN BOARD: CDED) , the developer of patent-pending Wi-Fi PDA technologies for e-health and EMR applications and a leading provider of technology and products to the lodging and satellite media industries, and CareGeneration a leading distributor of pharmaceutical products and a division of Kelly Co. World Group, Inc. (Kelly), today announced that the companies have come to terms to jointly implement and manage a sweeping e-prescription initiative for America's medically uninsured. The program will involve the distribution of CareDecision's MD@Rx PDA products to a national base of approximately 55,000 physicians who provide care to the indigent and the medically uninsured.
The agreement calls for CareDecision to provide, administer and support its patent-pending MD@Rx, MD@Desktop, MD@Practice-Probe and MD@Server products and technologies, which are designed to facilitate e-health networks. These link physicians who are primarily treating the nation's poor and medically uninsured. There are over 40 million Americans without any healthcare insurance. President Bush has repeatedly voiced a need for an overhaul of the healthcare system to include the introduction of cost saving and efficient electronic technologies. This program was recently presented to the Bush Administration. First year commerce under this initiative is estimated to be $160 million from prescription medicine fulfillment. Kelly and its partners expect to infuse CareDecision with a combination of equity and technology development investments totaling approximately $4.0 million.
Robert Cox, CEO of CareDecision Corp., stated, "Our coming to terms with Kelly Co. is a watershed event. This sweeping $160 million e-script initiative not only provides a viable solution to the growing problems faced by uninsured and under-insured Americans, but it will set a standard for future e-health programs. In fact we are already working on several similar initiatives. Ronald Kelly is a far-sighted visionary and we are honored to be his partner in this exceptional and unique opportunity. And we are already planning a further pooling of interests, an example of which is our commitment to initially purchase 10,000 PDA units to power our ResidenceWare networks, from Futurecom Global, another Kelly company."
Ronald R. Kelly, founder and CEO of Kelly Co. World Group, Inc., stated, "We have been working on this endeavor for a number of months and are elated by the broad-based support and excitement we are receiving from the many sides of this initiative, including the Bush administration, large pharmaceutical companies, and private philanthropists. We undertake this extraordinary initiative knowing that CareDecision's sophisticated and patent-pending technologies will allow this program to proceed. Our e-health initiative, the largest of its kind to date, will not only facilitate significant revenue and profit opportunities for our two companies, but is also a giant step toward helping solve the crisis faced by the millions of Americans without health insurance."
