Blue Shield Of California Names Three New Vice Presidents

SAN FRANCISCO, April 21 /PRNewswire/ -- To accommodate its recent growth and to recognize superior performance, Blue Shield of California has announced the appointments of three new vice presidents.

Reflecting its commitment to expanding its e-commerce capabilities, Blue Shield of California has appointed Jan Vorfeld to the newly created position of vice president of Business Transformation and eBusiness. In this new role, Vorfeld will lead the conversion of Blue Shield's current sales and enrollment processes to electronic capabilities that are built upon Web-based technology platforms. These tools will support interactions with Blue Shield that involve sales, price quoting, enrollment and service.

Before joining Blue Shield of California, Vorfeld served as general manager with Charles Schwab & Co., responsible for product development, strategic marketing and distribution/channel management. Vorfeld received her MBA from Stanford University and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Dartmouth College.

Bob Wadsworth was promoted to vice president of installation and membership in the Consumer Operations Division. Wadsworth most recently served as Blue Shield senior director, successfully leading efforts that range from redesigning the enrollment process to significantly reduce turnaround time on member applications to modernizing the call center to provide improved service to agents and brokers.

Wadsworth received both his Bachelor of Science in General Studies and MBA from Cornell University in New York.

Laurie Cameron has been promoted from senior director to vice president of Learning and Organization Development. Cameron joined Blue Shield's Human Resource Department last year with responsibility for the company's leadership and change management programs. She led efforts to develop new programs to improve the company's management capabilities for the top 400 leaders, including accelerated learning labs, leadership workshops and a comprehensive executive development program for the company's senior staff.

Cameron has more than 15 years experience in leadership and organizational development that includes executive management positions at William-Sonoma, Inc., Fort Point Partners and Accenture, where she led the Change Management practice for Latin America. Cameron holds a Bachelor of Arts' degree in Speech Communication and Organizational Psychology from the University of Maryland.
