BlueScript for Medicare Part D plan enrollees will receive the same discounts BCBSF has negotiated with pharmacy partners, and access to a comprehensive selection of covered drugs at more than 3,000 pharmacies in Florida and more than 55,000 nationwide.
“As a Florida-based company, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida’s Part D plans and the benefits provided have been designed to address the needs of Floridians,” said Tricia Engel, director of product and services. “In selecting the services offered to BlueScript for Medicare Part D enrollees, BCBSF placed an emphasis on providing services that enhance member quality of life while also resulting in significant savings in their health care expenses.”
The federal government requires all Part D plans to cover at least two drugs that would be used to treat a specific medical condition or illness. In many instances, BlueScript for Medicare Part D plans cover more than two drugs, providing broader coverage than the government requires. BCBSF consulted with practicing Florida-based physicians in determining which of those additional drugs would best meet the needs of members and should be covered.
Members also will have access to a variety of health services and benefits, including significant savings on routine dental services and procedures from more than 3,800 dentists in Florida and savings on eldercare programs and services, chiropractic procedures, massage, acupuncture, vitamins, fitness products, eye exams, fitness club memberships, lasik surgery and more.
