PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- A top Philadelphia healthcare executive will be honored on Wednesday, October 19 by the Penn State Alumni Association and President Graham Spanier during the 2005 Penn State Alumni Fellows Ceremony at The Nittany Lion Inn in State College, PA.
Daniel J. Pedriani, President and Chief Executive Officer of AmeriHealth Administrators, a subsidiary of Independence Blue Cross, is one of 20 Penn State alumni being honored that evening for his outstanding professional accomplishments. He will be awarded the title of Penn State Alumni Fellow, the highest award given by the Penn State Alumni Association. To become a Penn State Alumni Fellow, the alumni must first be nominated by an academic college or campus as a leader in his or her professional field. Dan was nominated for this award by both the Great Valley and Schuylkill campuses of The Pennsylvania State University. As an Alumni Fellow, Dan will be invited by the President of the University to return to campus to share his expertise with students, faculty and administrators.
“The Alumni Fellow program gives us the opportunity to showcase the incredible contributions Penn Staters make to our nation and the world,” says Roger L. Williams, executive director of the Penn State Alumni Association. Since the Alumni Fellow award was established in 1973, a total of 549 distinguished Penn State alumni have been recognized and honored with the title of Alumni Fellow.
