NASHVILLE, Tenn., March 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Nashville-based Aegis has been selected by Wesley Medical Center in Kansas to help the facility link its services and programs with the health-related needs of Wichita employers and their workforce. It is anticipated that employers participating in this program will recognize meaningful savings in employee health costs while the medical center will be able to play an even greater role in building a healthy community.
"This program truly aligns the interests of employers, employees and the hospital in a way that more than ever makes us true partners in the community's health," said David Nevill, president and chief executive officer of 760-bed Wesley Medical Center. "We've joined with Aegis in this effort because they are the nation's leader in employer-directed marketing and have a proven track record working in over 70 markets nationwide."
As part of the program being launched this week, Aegis is providing Wesley Medical Center with its proprietary software and Internet applications as well as Aegis' employer-based Health Information Centers, Personal Health Surveys and Personal Health Reports currently being used at more than 7,000 employers nationwide. Combined, these tools will provide employers in Wichita a window into the potential healthcare costs and risks associated with their workforce while giving individual employees a confidential snapshot into their own health status.
Through information received from these surveys, employers are able to see the direct relationship between health risks and the cost of employee health benefits, lost productivity and profitability if problems are left untreated. By taking proactive intervention and moving at-risk employees into specific hospital-based programs, employers can save significant dollars in employee health costs, absenteeism, healthcare premiums, worker's compensation and other healthcare-related expenditures.
"We are committed to working with local employers to identify specific employee health risks and then match those with early detection, prevention and education initiatives focused on specific diseases such as heart, cancer, orthopedics, women's health, diabetes and more," said Nevill. "The shared goal is to help an employer's bottom line while assuring that Wesley Medical Center is providing services that truly match the current and future needs of the community."
