FDA Releases Drug Development Process Report

Today the US FDA released a significant new conference report on the drug development process. The report calls for new and additional collaborations among pharmaceutical companies, academic researchers and regulatory agencies, to improve and speed-up the time required to bring novel diagnostics and pharmaceuticals to market. A Jan 2005 conference, co-sponsored by the Association of American Medical Colleges and US FDA, as part of the FDA's Critical Path Initiative, was the basis for the report. In it are presented various immediate opportunities for stakeholders to work together toward breakthroughs in the drug development sciences.
