Ascenion GmbH Release: New Procedure Accelerates Drug Discovery

April 23, 2007, Munich – Scientists from the Leibniz Institute for Molecular Pharmacology (FMP) have established a new procedure that significantly accelerates the search for new drugs. A specially adapted microscope is used to assess the effects of potential active agents on living cells. The whole procedure from cell culture to image evaluation is automated, allowing collections of tens of thousands of chemical substances to be screened quickly and efficiently.
