Alcon Laboratories, Inc. Plans to Add 750 Jobs, Invest $11 Million in Fort Worth

Alcon Labs, recently acquired by Novartis, intends to grow its workforce to 4,000 employees in the next six years as it expands its facilities in south Fort Worth with the creation of a Finance Service Center for the company's North American operations. The company is asking the Fort Worth City Council to establish its campus off Interstate 35W near I-20 as a reinvestment zone and grant a 10-year, 80 percent tax abatement on the incremental real and personal property taxes. Alcon says it will spend at least $11 million to expand, with at least $3 million on new facilities and the remainder in business personal property.
