2004 Wenger Awards Presented

WASHINGTON, April 23 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease has presented its six Wenger Awards for excellence at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. The awards recognize individuals and organizations that have demonstrated a commitment to and significant achievement in efforts to reduce heart disease in women. The 2004 winners were:

The Wenger Awards are named in honor of Dr. Nanette Kass Wenger, a Professor of Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine and Chief of Cardiology at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, GA. She is a world-renowned cardiologist who has long-championed the need for improved research and treatment of heart disease in women.

The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease is the nation’s only patient advocacy organization representing the 8,000,000 American women living with heart disease. It aims to improve their quality of life and healthcare through support, education and advocacy. Founded in 1998, it is a non-profit public charity headquartered in Washington, DC.
