October 11, 2004 -- The pursuit of blockbusters has become an addiction for big pharma and big biotech alike. Most of the growth for the 10 biggest drug makers during the last decade came from 8 or so blockbusters a year, launched in the 1990s. The pace has slowed to near zero now.
