NEW YORK, Oct 18 (Reuters) - Ventana Medical Systems Inc (VMSI.O: Quote, Profile, Research), which has rebuffed a $3 billion takeover bid by Roche Holding AG (ROG.VX: Quote, Profile, Research), posted sharply lower quarterly profit on Thursday, hurt by costs related to Roche's unsolicited offer, litigation and an acquisition.
