Scottish specialty drugmaker Strakan and French biotechnology firm Proskelia are exploring a merger ahead of a planned initial public offering, possibly in the second half of 2004, industry sources said on Wednesday. No final decisions have yet been taken but investors in the two companies believe adding Strakan’s marketing expertise to Proskelia’s research capability would create an enlarged group with critical mass.
