MORRISVILLE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Trimeris, Inc. (NASDAQ: TRMS) today announced that the Company earned $0.41 per share for the quarter ended December 31, 2007, compared with $0.21 per share in the fourth quarter of 2006. Net income for the fourth quarter totaled $9.1 million, compared with $4.7 million in the prior year’s fourth quarter. This increase was primarily driven by decreased operating expenses which were $4.0 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2007, compared to $8.1 million for the same period last year.
