Survey Finds Medical Residents Frustrated with Work-Hour Restrictions

Robert Wood Johnson Foundation -- A survey of medical residents published in the July issue of the Journal of the American College of Surgeons suggests that work-hour restrictions for residents may be hindering their educational experience, Fierce Healthcare reports. Duty hour regulations (DHRs) were imposed in 2003, limiting medical residents to an 80-hour work week, a decline from an average of at least 100 hours per week.
