INDIANAPOLIS, July 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Standard Management Corporation announced the appointment of Mark B. L. Long to the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer of U.S. Health Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Standard Management Corporation.

Mr. Long will direct operational activities for all pharmacy operations, including information technology, and reimbursement and billing. Mr. Long has more than 15 years experience in the pharmaceutical distribution and healthcare industries, including 7+ years as a licensed pharmacist in hospital settings. His expertise in developing model pharmacy and distribution work- flow systems, and enhancing and integrating customer service and sales efforts with operations will accelerate U.S. Health Services’ rapid growth.
Prior to joining U.S. Health Services, Mr. Long was the Regional Vice President for Operations for PharMerica, one of the nation’s leading institutional pharmacies. He holds bachelor’s degrees from Temple University and LaSalle University in Pharmacy and Business Administration.
