(PINKSHEETS: SWNM) is pleased to announce that, while in its clinical study phase for achieving CLIA status for its Labguard™ testing products, it is evaluating patented allergy diagnostic testing means which could change the methodology of testing patients for myriad allergies. Current modalities used for determining a person’s allergic conditions is to have the patient undergo a series of needle sticks and allergen patch tests on the skin. This process is generally quite uncomfortable and requires substantial time and office/clinic visit time. The new patented process being evaluated by Southwestern Medical represents the potential for comprehensive allergy testing without the patient undergoing the conventional, seemingly antiquated, means currently used to determine specific allergies. The new technique requires only one sample of the patient’s blood which then undergoes diagnostic testing. Anyone who has had to endure the current methods for determining allergic reactions, as well as any patient who is faced with having to undergo the full diagnostic array, will no doubt appreciate the revolutionary new technology. This patented procedure has been introduced to SWNM exclusively. The Company will continue to evaluate the specific benefits to the Company and the means by which it could fit within the current product lineup.
