Scios Inc. announced today that Richard B. Brewer, President of Scios Inc., has resigned to pursue industry and academic interests after heading the company for the last five years and successfully guiding it through its merger with Johnson & Johnson last year. Brewer will be succeeded by James R. Mitchell, currently President of Janssen-Ortho, Inc. in Canada, starting March 1, 2004.
