Samples of Coumadin-branded Warfarin Tablets Recalled

MedPage Today -- Blister-pack samples of Coumadin-branded warfarin tablets, 1 mg, have been recalled because of potential instability in the active ingredient. The levels of isopropanol -- an alcohol that maintains warfarin in a crystalline state -- may not meet specification and can reduce or increase effective levels of the agent over time, according to a statement from manufacturer Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS).
