MedPageToday -- Inhaled corticosteroids modestly increase the risk of diabetes onset and progression, especially when given at high doses, researchers found. Diabetes incidence among respiratory disease patients was 34% higher among those on inhaled corticosteroids (95% CI 1.29 to 1.39), Samy Suissa, PhD, of Jewish General Hospital in Montreal, and colleagues reported in the November issue of the American Journal of Medicine.
