VERO BEACH, Fla., /PRNewswire/ -- Families, friends and four-legged fur balls are invited to ‘Paws and Pumpkins’ animal adoption event this Sunday, October 14th from 1-4pm at Pelican Landing Assisted Living and Memory Care Community in Sebastian, Fla. The festive, fall event benefits H.A.L.O. Rescue, the only no-kill animal shelter in Indian River County.

Pelican Landing Assisted Living and Memory Care hosts Paws and Pumpkins animal adoption event in partnership with H.A.L.O. Rescue this Sunday, October 14th from 1-4pm in Sebastian, Fla.

Paws and Pumpkins will feature fabulous food, certified canine massage therapy, professional pet photography, mobile pet grooming and a variety of exciting vendors. Event partner, H.A.L.O. Rescue invites the community to enjoy the festivities and meet their furry friends available for adoption. Seniors will receive special rates on all pet adoptions.

H.A.L.O. Rescue was created in 2006 with a mission to create a no-kill safe haven for abused and abandoned animals. Once an animal enters H.A.L.O. Rescue, they pledge to provide all physical, emotional, and medical care needed until a forever home is found. H.A.L.O. rescues animals from all over the state and outside of Florida with a vision to create a community without homeless pets.

For seniors, the benefits of a pet can be life-changing. A furry companion can stimulate memories, decrease loneliness, encourage exercise and create a feeling of purpose and self-worth. The unconditional love of a dog or cat can be a bridge to increased socialization, lowered stress, mental stimulation and a renewed interest in life.
