LOUISVILLE, Ky., Sept. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Humana Inc. announced today that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Humana Military Healthcare Services (HMHS), was awarded its fifth Department of Defense Patient Appointing Services contract. The new agreement is for services at the department’s Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. The contract will begin November 1, 2005, and it is expected to continue through March 31, 2011.
This contract provides patient appointing services for approximately 18,000 TRICARE eligible beneficiaries seeking medical appointments at the Military Treatment Facility (MTF) and will employ eight additional full-time associates in support of this contract. HMHS was previously awarded similar contracts to provide patient appointing services for the 81st Medical Group at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi, Womack Army Medical Center at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the 74th Medical Group at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio; and in Colorado Springs, Colorado providing services for the Air Force Academy, Peterson Air Force Base and Fort Carson.
