WATERTOWN, Mass., June 4, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- A new study published in American Journal of Critical Care1 supports temporal artery (TA) thermometers in the pediatric intensive care unit as an acceptable non-invasive alternative to rectal temperatures, both for children age 0 to 1 year old, and for age 1 to 12 years old. The study also showed that TA thermometry is a more accurate estimate of core temperature than axillary temperatures in both age groups.
