Sue MacLeman has commenced as Chair of MTPConnect, the Medical Technologies and Pharmaceuticals Industry Growth Centre.
03 October 2018
Ms MacLeman, the former Managing Director and CEO of MTPConnect, takes over from Dr Bronwyn Evans who is stepping down after serving as Chair since establishment of MTPConnect by the Australian Government in December 2015.
The change is part of a transition plan agreed by the Board and the Federal Minister early this year.
Ms MacLeman has more than 30 years of experience as a pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical technology executive with senior roles in corporate, medical, commercial and business development. She has served as CEO and Board member of several ASX, AIM and NASDAQ listed companies and is currently Chair of Anatara Lifesciences Ltd and Novita Healthcare Ltd, and Non-Executive Director of Oventus Medical Ltd, Imunexus Ltd and veski.
Ms MacLeman says she’s pleased to take on the role of Chair at a critical time for MTPConnect.
“MTPConnect is delivering some outstanding results and helping to unlock the enormous potential of Australia’s MTP sector and I am delighted to be able to continue contributing now as Chair,” Ms MacLeman said.
“The MTPConnect team, now led by CEO Dr Dan Grant, is supporting great projects across the country, covering areas ranging from 3D printing and precision medicine to clinical trials, advanced manufacturing and industry mentoring. The team is forging stronger connections between research and industry, maximising opportunities for Australians to not only make scientific and technological breakthroughs, but to see them translated and commercialised.”
Ms MacLeman acknowledged the contribution of outgoing Chair, Dr Evans. “Bronwyn’s expertise and vision as MTPConnect’s inaugural Chair can’t be overstated. Her contribution to our organisation has been immense, her dedication to the broader sector an inspiration and her leadership has set us all up for sustained success,” Ms MacLeman said.
“Bronwyn’s professionalism and commitment will be missed and on behalf of the Board, I wish her well for the future.”
