ATLANTA and CHICAGO, April 29, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- GoHealth Urgent Care, one of the country's largest and fastest-growing urgent care companies, and Force Diagnostics, a clinical underwriting data services company, today announced a first-of-its-kind partnership that aligns urgent care centers with life insurance applicants requiring a pre-policy exam as part of the clinical underwriting process. GoHealth Urgent Care and Force Diagnostics will launch first in the Dignity Health-GoHealth Urgent Care market in Northern California in May 2019, followed by additional geographies such as Portland, Oregon and the New York metro area later in 2019. The current, antiquated model of life insurance pre-policy clinical underwriting usually requires a medical professional to come to a consumer's home or place of business to administer an exam, along with taking labs and other vitals. This home or office visit can often be intrusive and inconvenient for the applicant. In addition, clinical underwriting is traditionally a time intensive process, that can take up to 60 days from start to finish. With Force Diagnostics' ClinicsNow! software, applicants can now complete all the required steps in 48 hours or less at GoHealth Urgent Care centers. GoHealth Urgent Care and Force Diagnostics are disrupting the current model by connecting two disparate ecosystems – the life insurance industry and the care-on-demand urgent care industry – dramatically improving the customer experience while significantly condensing the timeframe for approval. "Innovation has always been a part of our DNA at GoHealth Urgent Care. This new partnership with Force Diagnostics underscores our customer focus and commitment to removing friction from healthcare experiences," said Boyd Faust, Chief Strategy Officer for GoHealth. "Our urgent care centers are conveniently located where consumers live, work and play, and we pride ourselves on delivering unparalleled experiences, not just to injured or sick patients, but now to life insurance applicants as well." "With over 5 million life insurance applications in need of clinical examination processed in the U.S. each year, our partnership with GoHealth Urgent Care has the potential to change the industry," said Scott Filer, CEO of Force Diagnostics. "We're thrilled to partner with GoHealth Urgent Care, as we work together to create an innovative system that will modernize the life insurance process; benefitting both life insurance companies and their consumers."
