The Department of Justice requested documents from St. Jude Medical Inc. as part of an investigation into whether the company paid doctors to implant its heart devices, the company said in a regulatory filing Tuesday. The government is investigating the Little Canada-based company for possible violations of the False Claims Act, St. Jude said in the filing. St. Jude received the DOJ's request last month.
