LEXINGTON, Mass. (USA), and HEIDELBERG, Germany, Jan. 13, 2009 – febit holding GmbH, a developer of the flexible and automated biochip-based DNA-analysis platform Geniom®, today announced the appointment of Heinz Blunier to the newly created position of Chief Operation Officer.
Blunier previously served as Head of Engineering Department at Inventa, CEO of Tegimenta AG, a subsidiary of Hoffmann-La-Roche, and Vice President Plant Manager at Boehringer Mannheim. As an independent management consultant he led numerous production and operations projects in Switzerland, Germany and the UK mainly in the field of scientific instrumentation.
As COO, Heinz Blunier is responsible for instrument production, the technical service, production of Geniom biochips, the Geniom biochip farm as well as the complete supply chain. Blunier has more than 30 years of experience in medical and analytical instrumentation in different positions. He will be based in febit’s headquarter in Heidelberg.
