SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 15, 2006--Cypress Bioscience, Inc. (NASDAQ:CYPB) today announced its financial results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 2005. For the quarter ended December 31, 2005, the Company reported a net loss of approximately $1.8 million or $0.06 per share basic and diluted compared to a net loss of approximately $2.5 million or $0.08 per share basic and diluted for the corresponding period in 2004. For the year ended December 31, 2005, the Company reported a net loss of approximately $8.6 million or $0.28 per share basic and diluted compared to a net loss of approximately $11.2 million or $0.40 per share basic and diluted for the corresponding period in 2004. At December 31, 2005, the Company had cash, cash equivalents and investments totaling $109.6 million.
