DUBLIN, Ireland--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As part of a global effort to highlight the threat posed by venous thromboembolism (VTE), Covidien plc today announced it will support the inaugural World Thrombosis Day campaign as a Global Partner. Developed by the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), the campaign will use October 13, 2014 as an opportunity to highlight the burden and the risk of morbidity and mortality1 associated with VTE.
