WASHINGTON, Oct. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The Wellness Community(R) (TWC), an international, non-profit organization dedicated to providing free support, education and hope for all people affected by cancer, today welcomed four new members to its National Board of Directors and announced that it will open its 22nd Wellness Community in the United States in mid-November to provide support, education and hope to the cancer community in Central New Jersey. In addition, in September, TWC announced the appointment of Paula Rothenberg as Executive Director of The Wellness Community -- Greater Washington, D.C., which is scheduled to open in 2006.
The Wellness Community -- National Board of Directors is made up of members who serve as knowledgeable ambassadors of The Wellness Community mission to provide free social and emotional support for people with cancer and their families. The new Board members come from diverse backgrounds and include:
* Martin J. Dowd, former Partner, Executive Vice President and Senior Client Advisor of J.P. Morgan Investment Management, Inc., is currently a senior advisor for Global Investment Advisors, Inc. He has held a variety of fundraising and advisory roles for universities, charities and churches. Dowd is a graduate of Fordham University and was an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. * Cherie Huillade has been the Board Chair of The Wellness Community -- San Francisco/East Bay for the past four years and has been with Grubb and Ellis real estate firm since 1989, ranking among her office’s top five producers. She is actively involved with The Wellness Community in the San Francisco area where she established an annual gala “Toast to the Stars” as well as a regional Leadership Council and supports ongoing recruitment of new and active board members. * William H. Krul, II, is CEO and Senior Partner of Miller-Valentine Group and has served as Chairman of The Wellness Community -- Cincinnati. He is deeply involved in his community and serves on the boards of several local companies including Klosterman Baking Company, Reading Rock, Inc., Neff Packaging Solutions and Moellering Industries. Krul is a graduate of Georgia Southern and Wright State Universities. * Mary E. Stutts is Genentech Corporation’s Senior Director and Head of Corporate Relations. Previously, she was Director of Public Policy and Communications for Bayer Corporation’s Global Biotechnology Unit in Berkeley. She is a graduate in Communications Management at the University of Louisiana and has a Master’s of Health Administration from the University of Southern California.
