MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Minneapolis-based entrepreneurial partnership The SEED Partners, LLC, announced today that Doug Kohrs, an experienced biomedical business leader, will chair the organization’s Advisory Board.
“Our bold, forward thinking vision for SEED required someone in our established network with proven experience with start-ups and a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to operationalize novel technologies,” explains SEED Partners Founder and CEO Jeff Julkowski. “We felt that Doug brings that and much more. His insights and input will be invaluable. His industry contacts will also extend our global biotech network. Doug was the ideal choice for how we’ve structured SEED. His focus and vision are great matches with ours.”
“SEED understands that in-house research and development is the precursor to success in the biotech sector,” adds Kohrs. “The SEED founders and scientists are proven business leaders and entrepreneurs with big aspirations. I am excited by the scale of SEED’s objectives and their desire to transform the diagnostics field.”
Kohrs was most recently president and CEO of Tornier N.V., a publicly traded global medical device company. Prior to Tornier, Kohrs served as president, CEO and chairman of the board of Twin Cities-based American Medical Systems Holdings, Inc., a publicly held medical device company acquired by Endo Pharmaceuticals Holdings, Inc. Kohrs has also served on the boards of directors for multiple private and public medical device companies and served as a co-founder and top executive at Spine-Tech, based in Edina, Minn.
“Doug is partnering with SEED to assemble a board that shares our vision across these technology platforms,” says SEED Co-Founder and President Frank Santiago. “We appreciate that Doug has always seen more opportunity in big, bold and market changing ideas.”
