Stratum Med Saves More Than $2 Million With Amerinet

ST. LOUIS, Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Stratum Med has extended its Amerinet membership agreement for three additional years - through September 2007. Amerinet will continue to support the non-acute care integrated delivery network and provide its shareholders prime access to pricing and group purchasing services.

Since Stratum Med partnered with Amerinet in 1997, contract utilization has increased more than 250 percent. In 2002, the shareholder organizations purchased more than $32 million in medical, laboratory, imaging and pharmaceutical supplies through Amerinet contracts, realizing a savings of more than $2 million.

"Stratum Med is a committed, active Amerinet member, with a group purchasing volume that has grown to exceed $39 million in 2003," said Amerinet Central President Victor Samolovitch. "We value Stratum Med's internal diversity and expertise in the non-acute care market."

Stratum Med executive director of group purchasing, Brian Medendorp, said Amerinet's first-class non-acute care purchasing program and innovative programs, including Diagnostix, were main reasons for renewing. An Amerinet subsidiary, Diagnostix, offers data management and analysis products that improve supply chain processes and generate sustained savings.

"As an Amerinet strategic account since 1997, we have achieved significant cost savings," says Medendorp. "For the future, Amerinet holds a lot of promise as a centralized and uniform data mining resource that will ensure correct, consistent pricing, resulting in lower acquisition and distribution costs."

"Amerinet recognizes the need to help health care providers address non- labor expense reductions through price file management, contract maximization and item file management," says Diagnostix President Mary Beth Lang. "We look forward to working with Stratum Med to achieve data-driven savings."
