Repositive Secures Additional Funding Through A SMART Grant

Cambridge 21 July 2015 … Repositive, a software company developing novel tools to improve access to genomic research data, has been awarded a SMART grant of £50,000 to develop a platform for secure access to human genomic data through privacy-preserving technologies.

The SMART Award, which is through Innovate UK, will see the company receive additional funding as it further develops and commercialises its web based platform for sourcing and accessing genomic data. The company plans to launch its first product in September 2015.

Fiona Nielsen, CEO of Repositive, said: “With the explosion in the amount of genomic data now available, scientists need a more effective tool to identify the most useful data for their research. Through the Repositive platform, they can seamlessly identify the most useful data. In addition, the platform will also improve the ability of scientists to securely access and share their data, both within their organisations and with collaborators and the wider community.

With the platform nearly ready for launch, this award will be very useful as we continue to refine and improve our product. We have already had a significant amount of interest from the life sciences community and we expect to see this grow as we expand the platform’s capabilities.”

Repositive has developed a web based platform which will allow scientists to quickly and easily access data from a range of global sources, and initiate data collaborations with both colleagues and external collaborators.

The platform will launch in September 2015, and a beta version is currently available at http://repositive.io/#beta-signup-form
