PALM HARBOR, Fla., April 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Regenerative Processing Plant, LLC (RPP) has been video showcased by Palo Alto Investors for the ambitious challenge to solve aging: www.paloaltoprize.com/team/fountain-of-youth.
RPP will compete in both the Homeostatic Capacity and the Longevity Demonstration Prizes. Dr. Harrell’s team plans to approach the problem of aging using human growth factors (a specific type of proteins).
In May 2014, Harvard Scientists found a growth factor that could reverse the aging process. The Harvard Stem Cell Institute showed injections of a growth factor called Growth Differentiation Factor 11 (GDF-11) appears to have special regenerative properties. This study showed many tissues including damaged muscle are regenerated. GDF-11 is being called the “Fountain of Youth Hormone”.
The new concept, not currently universally understood, is to use Allogeneic Human Growth Factors Injections, such as GDF-11 “The Fountain of Youth Hormone”, to stimulate your Autologous Stem Cells that might not be functioning efficiently.
Dr. C. Randall Harrell, M.D., CEO & Chief Medical Officer for RPP states,
“The article from Dr. Wagers lab at Harvard below offers scientific evidence that Human Growth Factors, like those in our PDA Human Amniotic Fluid Cryo-Activ ® product, are more important than allogeneic stem cells in rejuvenation of aging and injured Tissue.”
The following quote is from the Harvard paper:
“Peripheral supplementation of GDF11 protein (in mice) ameliorates the age-related dysfunction of skeletal muscle by rescuing the function of aged muscle stem cells.”
(Ref. Sinha, M; Jang, YC; Oh, J; Khong, D; ... Wagers, AJ (May 2014). “Restoring systemic GDF11 levels reverses age-related dysfunction in mouse skeletal muscle.”. Science 344 (6184): 64952. doi:10.1126/science.1251152. PMID 24797481.)
Regenerative Processing Plant’s (RPP) First Sterile Product: PDA Human Amniotic Fluid Cryo-Activ ® is also the first product on the market to Lot test for the presence of GDF-11.
The Palo Alto Longevity Prize is a $1 million life science competition that challenges teams from all over the world to extend life spans: www.PaloAltoPrize.com.
There has been some exciting news to share; since soft launching the Palo Alto Prize on September 9, 2014 there has been growing interest in the prize from the science community on refining the prize rules and the prize timeline. The Palo Alto Prize team is happy to announce, more than thirty World Class Scientific teams that have submitted an “intent to compete application” and some wonderful new scientific advisers have been added to the prize effort.
Race Against Time is a nonprofit public charity (“RACE”). RACE will fully operate, administer and award the Prize. Dr. Joon Yun from Palo Alto Investors is the sponsor of the Prize.
