Paulo Diniz Joins Amyris, Inc. as CEO, Amyris Brasil

EMERYVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Amyris, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMRS) announced today that Paulo Diniz, a seasoned executive in the sugar and ethanol industry, has joined Amyris as chief executive officer of Amyris Brasil. Prior to Amyris, Mr. Diniz served as chief financial officer of Bunge Brasil S.A., a wholly owned subsidiary of Bunge Ltd., a company operating in agribusiness, sugar and bioenergy, fertilizers and foods, and ingredients. From 2003 to 2009, Mr. Diniz was chief financial officer and a member of the board of directors of Cosan S.A., one of the largest renewable products companies in the world with a crushing capacity of over 65 million tons of sugarcane. In addition, Mr., Diniz has held a number of executive positions in Brazil and internationally. He received an MBA from IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland, a B. Sc. In Pro, and did post graduate work in human resources at Insead in France.

Mario Portela, Amyris’s chief operating officer who has acted as chief executive officer of Amyris Brasil for the past year, will remain on the Amyris Brasil board and will continue with his responsibilities for all of Amyris’s upstream, global production and supply chain activity.
