Mellon Selected By Northwestern Memorial Hospital For Range Of Pension And Health & Welfare Services

RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J., Sept. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Mellon Financial Corporation’s Human Resources & Investor Solutions (HR&IS) business today announced that it has been selected by Northwestern Memorial Hospital (NMH) in Chicago to provide a number of human resource consulting and outsourcing services. HR&IS will provide actuarial valuations, retirement plan consulting, health and welfare consulting, and administration services for NMH’s defined benefit pension plan and health and welfare plans.

“Our relationship with Mellon allows us to enhance our ‘best people strategy,’” said Tammy Saunaitis, director of Human Resources at NMH. “Employing the best people enables us to provide the best patient experience, and Mellon’s services help us retain the best employees by improving their satisfaction with the benefit plans.”

According to Saunaitis, this comprehensive agreement will help NMH achieve three key objectives:

- improved employee satisfaction, as a result of faster pension payments and online calculation and modeling tools that assist employees with future planning; - greater efficiencies for the hospital, through the bundling of consulting and outsourcing services with a single provider in Mellon; and - access to Mellon’s powerful technology platform, providing NMH and its employees with total benefits administration for timely information needed to address individual and family needs.

“We are extremely pleased to establish this relationship with Northwestern Memorial Hospital,” said James D. Aramanda, Mellon vice chairman and head of HR&IS. “Our integrated consulting and outsourcing solutions help Northwestern give its people easy, informed control over critical benefit decisions.”
