MedQuist Names New Senior Vice President, Human Resources

MOUNT LAUREL, N.J., Feb. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MedQuist Inc. (Pink Sheets: MEDQ.PK) today announced the appointment of Adele Barbato as its new senior vice president of Human Resources.

On February 28, Barbato will join MedQuist as the company's first senior vice president of Human Resources. She comes to the company from a distinguished career with Unisys Corp., where she most recently was vice president of Human Resources - International Operations and Global Diversity. Prior to holding that position, Barbato was the senior HR leader for many of Unisys' business units, as well as providing specialized leadership in organization and talent development areas. Her major initiatives have included the implementation of a fully-integrated performance management system and the design of a new organizational model and foundation for cultural transformation.

Barbato's career with Unisys spanned more than 35 years, beginning with Sperry Corporation prior to their 1986 merger with Burroughs. At that time, Barbato, who was vice president of human resources in the telecommunications and transportation industry business units during the merger, helped facilitate the integration of Sperry and Burroughs employees. She also had extensive international experience, having been responsible for organizational change initiatives in Asia Pacific, Latin America, South Africa and Canada. Most recently, Barbato was responsible for the implementation of human resources strategic and operational plans for all of Unisys' business units and corporate staffs in 40 countries, with a total of 20,000 employees.
