Insight Sciences Introduces Mobile Workstations For Optimal Medical Imaging

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich., Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Insight Sciences, a biomedical imaging technology company, will unveil its new MW(TM) Series Mobile Workstations at the RSNA ’04, booth 1440, in the Mobile Computing Pavilion later this month.

The MW Series combines the power of a desktop system with the portability of a notebook. Featuring exceptional processing speed, enhanced 3D graphics and optional pre-bundled FDA approved software, the MW workstations run up to four times faster than most systems currently used in radiology and PET centers around the world.

Insight Sciences offers three models to meet customer specific needs. The systems have upgradeable CPU’s and other configurable components such as dual disk drives, 256 megabytes of video memory, and up to two gigabytes of main memory.

Optional FDA approved software packages include 3D-DOCTOR, an image rendering, modeling and analysis package by Able Software, Inc., (recognized with the 2004 Frost & Sullivan Excellence in Research of the Year Award), and the University of Michigan’s 4D-MSPECT, a premier Myocardial Perfusion and Function analysis package.

3D-DOCTOR(C) is an advanced three dimensional image processing, modeling, and measurement software program for MRI, CT, PET, microscopy, and industrial 3D imaging applications. 3D-DOCTOR is FDA approved for medical imaging applications and is currently being used around the world by hospitals, medical schools, and research institutes.

4D-MSPECT(C) is used for SPECT- and PET-based imaging studies. The software quantitatively analyzes tomographic (ECT) cardiac nuclear medicine perfusion (ungated or gated) and blood pool (gated) studies and provides measurements in a user readable format. The measurements can be reported in comparison to normal ranges or distributions.

The MW Mobile Workstations also feature the latest Input/Output ports and come with Windows(R) XP Pro preinstalled. They can also be configured for the Linux operating system. Technical specifications are available at http://www.insightsciences.com/ .
