Florida Biologix Announces Dedication Of New cGMP Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing And Testing Facility

Alachua FL - A dedication ceremony for the new Florida BiologixTM biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility took place following the close of the 2006 Florida BIO annual meeting on November 15th. As part of Governor Jeb Bush’s initiative that established the Center of Excellence for Regenerative Health Biotechnology, the organization’s mission is to facilitate translational research which will lead to development of commercial biopharmaceutical technologies.

Florida Biologix is a non-profit contract manufacturing and testing organization that provides a wide range of services to the biotechnology industry, biomedical research institutions and academia. The organization’s primary focus is cGMP compliant production of Phase I and II clinical trial material on time and at reasonable prices.

Florida Biologix’s state-of-the-art, validated, multi-product facility is designed for maximum efficiency. Robert Zwerner, Ph.D., Director of Operations, commented “because of the flexibility in our operations and location of our facilities, we can deliver high-quality services at a low cost.” He also emphasized that “the organization’s senior technical managers have over 90 years of combined biopharmaceutical manufacturing experience”.

Florida Biologix offers the following services: cell line engineering, cGMP cell banking, upstream and downstream processes design, process and assay development, cGMP bulk substance production, purification, aseptic filling and product testing.
