LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Humana Inc. today announced the appointment of Edward J. Kaleta III as director of its Washington, D.C. office. Kaleta will help lead Humana's continuing efforts to work through government channels as well as non-government relationships to create a better environment for consumers seeking to take control of their health benefits.
As director of Humana's Washington office, Kaleta with work on key legislative, regulatory and advocacy initiatives for the company with Congress, government agencies, business and professional organizations and consumer groups.
Kaleta comes to Humana from the Washington office of Caterpillar Inc., where he represented the Fortune 100 company on issues such as health care, pensions, labor and domestic and international tax.

Prior to his tenure at Caterpillar, Kaleta directed lobbying activities for the U.S. Chamber's Office of Congressional and Public Affairs and was the editor-in-chief for the U.S. Chamber's web site, ChamberBiz.
