WARRENDALE, Pa., May 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Diagnostix(TM) LLC announced that the data-driven savings provider has entered into an agreement with The Washington Hospital (TWH) located in Washington, Pa., to implement its proprietary AccuPrice(TM) daily price-auditing program. Diagnostix is a wholly owned subsidiary of St. Louis-based leading health care group purchasing organization, Amerinet.
“The Diagnostix tool, AccuPrice, provides a unique, pharmacy-focused program that will assist our organization’s efforts to assure contract compliance, optimize savings and verify invoice pricing,” comments Michael A. Jacobs, PharmD, TWH director of pharmacy. “The AccuPrice tool will increase our staff efficiencies by automating many of our current manual processes. The outcome will allow us to reduce the resources devoted to price auditing and price discrepancy resolution.”
Diagnostix focuses on developing and implementing programs to help hospitals and health systems recognize and sustain significant savings. Diagnostix supplies the tools and training to identify cost savings opportunities, manage contracts, reduce supply chain expenses, identify and eliminate pricing variances and negotiate custom contracts. Core programs and services include consulting and training, the AccuPrice daily price auditing program, and the AccuSave(TM) program for managing and analyzing contracting and purchasing data.
“The AccuPrice tool provides a solution to the challenge of contract price management and audit for pharmaceutical products,” stated Diagnostix president, Mary Beth Lang. “The Diagnostix team will implement this tool by developing and managing a comprehensive pharmacy price file and conducting daily audits of all pharmacy purchases through the facility’s prime vendor wholesaler.”
AccuPrice is a software tool that combines master file maintenance with automated daily price audits to allow a health care facility’s staff to quickly identify and resolve pricing errors. Purchases are automatically reviewed every day to determine the number of invoices and lines, favorable and unfavorable variances, and items that are not on file. Staff then uses the daily report to correct errors that negatively affect supply costs and identify opportunities for additional savings.
Based in Washington, Pa., The Washington Hospital is a voluntary, not-for- profit community hospital serving Washington and the surrounding areas since 1897. As the largest service hospital in Washington County, it offers a comprehensive array of health care services through its 248-bed acute care facility and with more than 350 primary care and specialty physicians. Additionally, the hospital provides long-term care, hospice care and outpatient services.
