SEATTLE, Oct. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Citel Technologies, a global provider of IP telephony and communications solutions, today announced Mohave Mental Health Clinic’s successful deployment of Mitel’s 3300 CITELlink(TM) Gateways in conjunction with Mitel’s 3300 Integrated Communications Platform (ICP). The 3300 ICP and CITELlink installations for the Mohave Mental Health Clinic have taken the migraine out of migrating to VoIP for the Arizona-based organization, while providing increased scalability, enhanced user functionality, and significant implementation and administrative cost savings. The 3300 CITELlink Gateway, jointly develop by Citel Technologies and Mitel, and Mitel’s 3300 ICP have also garnered interest from government and educational organizations in the region. These organizations are attracted to the ease of maintenance and management, robust feature sets, and the preservation of investment in their traditional telephone equipment these solutions offer. Citel Technologies’ CITELlink gateways are being demonstrated live at the Voice on the Net (VON) tradeshow slated for October 18-21, at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, Massachusetts, in Citel’s booth #524.
Citel and Mitel Solutions Spell Relief
Having outgrown its aging Nortel Norstar telephone system, Mohave Mental Health Clinic has installed a Mitel 3300 Integrated Communications Platform (ICP) in its new facility, along with four CITELlink Gateways designed to enable Mohave to reuse their Norstar telephone handsets.
Mohave’s information systems and support services manager Jeff Oelke was impressed with the technology and the networking advantages of using an IP-based system that relied on a converged network architecture for voice and data. “The combined Citel Technologies and Mitel solution has virtually eliminated costly service calls, is extremely easy to administer, takes up less space than our old system, and our staff enjoys using the new IP-enhanced features they deliver,” says Oelke.
In addition, Oelke and his team were also impressed by the Mitel browser-based operations management interface and the ease in which the system could accommodate adds, moves and changes. As a bonus benefit-the CITELlink Gateways enabled their organization to retain and use their Norstar telephone handsets with Mitel’s new IP-based system-a unique advantage and a significant cost savings, since new telephone sets typically make up two thirds of the cost of a new telephone system. The CITELlink Gateways also enable IP functionality for their traditional Norstar telephones.
In addition to retaining a large portion of their investment in Nortel telephones, the staff at Mohave is now able to enjoy new features that were not available on their legacy communications system. “In less than 36 hours, the CITELlink 3300 Gateways and our four remote sites were seamlessly linked to the host Mitel 3300 ICP system. All telephones (traditional and new IP handsets) worked as IP units, and in three hours we had adequately trained the entire staff,” reports Oelke. “We were so impressed with the ease of implementation, we are planning replacements at each of our remote site by years’ end.”
About the 3300 CITELlink Gateway
The 3300 CITELlink Gateway, developed jointly by Citel Technologies and Mitel, is a 24-port gateway that integrates with the Mitel 3300 ICP to allow Nortel Networks’ Norstar telephones to seamlessly operate like Mitel IP telephones. Once connected to the CITELlink Gateway, Norstar telephones have access to the IP feature set delivered by Mitel’s 3300 ICP, with no telephone rewiring required. The 3300 ICP is a robust, feature-rich enterprise IP platform that is delivering the benefits of convergence to companies and organizations across market sectors and around the globe. Supporting the industry’s richest IP telephony feature set, the 3300 ICP gives enterprise users access to advanced converged applications for messaging, collaboration, teleworking, device integration, contact centers, mobility and more. The 3300 CITELlink Gateway began shipping earlier this year. The co-branded gateway is sold and supported by Mitel Networks’ extensive global network of solutions providers.
