CAMPBELL, Calif., June 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Apama Medical, a privately held medical device company focused on the development of next-generation atrial fibrillation technologies, today announced the issuance of U.S. Patent No. 8295902 by the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), titled “Low Profile Electrodes”. The patent encompasses low profile electrode assemblies for use on expandable structures such as balloons used in endovascular ablation or other surgical procedures.

Currently, atrial fibrillation procedures are limited by existing technology constraints and long procedure times. The issuance of this patent allows Apama Medical to develop a unique product to incorporate ablation, mapping/vision, and irrigation in one product.
