DALLAS, July 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ACS , a premier provider of business process and information technology outsourcing solutions, announced today that it has signed a contract with the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) to continue providing health information analysis and fraud and abuse detection solutions to support the Florida Medicaid program. The three-year contract is valued at $10.3 million.
ACS has provided the State of Florida with health information analysis solutions since 1999, when awarded a contract to design, develop, and operate an enterprise Decision Support System (DSS) and to implement a fraud and abuse detection system. In 2003, Florida sought competitive bids for decision support services and re-awarded the contract to ACS.
The DSS implemented and managed by ACS provides the State with the ability to access and manipulate information rapidly and flexibly to facilitate program planning, policy development, and program assessment. After several months of comprehensive training and focused user support, State users currently perform the majority of data requests in a fraction of the time, allowing users more time to analyze the data in terms of policy. This analysis provides Florida policy makers the information they need to develop up-to-date policy recommendations in a timely and accurate manner.
Under the new contract, ACS will continue to manage daily operations of the DSS and provide user support and training for State users both on- and off-site. Additionally, ACS analysts will work directly with AHCA senior management on assessments of program status, policy analysis, monitoring budget trends, and measuring program performance.
“We are excited that the State has decided to tap into our expertise in health information analysis,” said Harvey V. Braswell, Group President of ACS State Healthcare Solutions. “We offer states a fully integrated system supported by extensive analysis capabilities to improve healthcare program administration for Medicaid programs.”
