TORONTO, July 6 /PRNewswire/ - Axela Biosensors, Inc. today announced the appointment of Mr. Paul Smith as Vice President, Sales and Marketing effective immediately.

Mr. Smith joins Axela having recently held the position of Vice-President, Sales Europe and North America for Ciphergen Biosystems Inc., a company focused on translating proteomics-based biomarker discoveries into high value research and clinical diagnostic assays. In addition, Mr. Smith was recognized as a top sales performer with Beckman Coulter Inc., where he held a variety of positions over 8 years, including market planning management for chromatography products. He was previously technical director for a protein manufacturing firm for 10 years and marketing manager of a membrane company.
Mr. Smith earned a B.Sc. in Chemistry from Wilfrid Laurier University and continued his education in Pharmacology at the University of Western Ontario.
