Toxin Alert Inc. Filing Deadline Extended to January 15, 2009

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - December 29, 2008) - The Ontario Securities Commission ("OSC") has accepted the request of Toxin Alert Inc. (TSX VENTURE: TOX) that the Management Cease Trade Order under which Toxin Alert is operating to extend to January 15, 2009. The effect of this is that Toxin Alert has until that date to file its audited 2008 financial statements before a general cease trade order would be issued against the company. Toxin Alert intends to close its previously announced private placement on or before January 14, 2009.

Toxin Alert will continue to satisfy the provisions of the Alternative Information Guidelines by issuing by-weekly Default Status Reports in the form of news releases, as long as it remains in default. There is no other material information relating to the affairs of the Toxin Alert that has not been generally disclosed.

There are no other changes that are otherwise required to be disclosed pursuant to Section 4.4 of NP12-203.
